CIVIL WEDDING CEREMONIES at Usk Castle
February 21st, 2011Fairy tale weddings at Usk Castle.
From June 2011 five venues in the castle will be licensed for civil wedding ceremonies. This is a wonderful way to wed and have the reception, just as you would like to plan it, all in one place.
Within the castle ruins:
The North Tower, once called the treasure tower, accomodates 20 guests, with room outside on the castle green for many .
These next three venues are separate from the ruins of Usk Castle, in the grounds of The Castle House. This is a private house with enchanting gardens, and can easily be linked to the castle for receptions.
The Gatehouse, for 30 guests or more, complete with Portcullis slot, was built in 1320’s. With the arched roof and stone steps it is a real medieval setting, and looks out onto the gravel drive with ample room for more guests.
The Tithe Barn, for 80 guests. Still decorated with the old artefacts from its agriculutural days, but with lighting and carpets, the barn makes a lovely setting for a wedding.
The Oak Dining Room, for 30 guests. Panelled in oak rescued from a Jacobean house in Shrewsbury, the Oak Room has an enchanting historic atmosphere, with a wood burner and antique furniture.
