Each year a few events are held in the castle to raise money towards repairs and maintenance – as a charity the castle needs to be sustainable, so the castle relies on donations from visitors and events such as marquee receptions, plays, concerts and pageants to support conservation grants. The castle is only closed for private parties, and these are limited to two Saturdays per month in the summer from May to October.

Weddings and Marquee Events:

This is a lovely venue for parties of between 80 and 160 people. You hire the marquee, choose the catering and entertainment, your own decorations and music. Find out more here!
